Initially engaged to review the Axcess Managed Care portfolio in 2005, R and L completed a Managed Care Matrix and recommended a range of options from "terminate" to "renegotiate". We fully implemented the agreed-upon strategy and the client now has better paying agreements with improved language.

Oftentimes, companies make the mistake of trying to solve large financial, accounting or other business related problems internally. The mistake is made by not having an experienced third party consulting firm intervene, assess the problem, and offer an unbiased solution. Ignoring large financial and management problems can cripple any company, but it can be prevented if the appropriate third party is allowed to get involved.

Finding the right consulting firm to help with potential problems can be a monumental task. There are many to healthcare consulting companies from which to choose from and each one specializes in their own service area. So, how do you go about choosing the right firm to tackle your organizations financial or management problems? The answer is research and asking a lot of questions. Spending a few hours of diligent research to find a qualified consulting firm can potentially prevent years of headache down the road.

Questions to Ask

How long has the consulting firm been in business? This simple question will give you insight as to not only how long the firm has been around, but what kind of companies they assist.

How many associates work at the firm? Having more associates doesn't necessarily mean you will receive the best service. However, more associates typically mean the consulting firm has more resources available. A depth of experience and perspective helps identify opportunities and creative solutions where some companies, with limited resources, only find questions and problems. The more resources available, the better off your company will be.
